This new old stock cast aluminum chrome grill center is for a 1942 Dodge car. The original order was by Department of National Defense in London, Ontario, Canada. This grill was ordered right from Chrysler Canada but was never installed on the car.  Apparently it was sent back to the manufacturer because the military did not want a chrome grill. They had ordered unfinished or primer. It definitely could be the true story of this mint grill and original packaging according to the address stamped on the packaging.

If you are restoring a concourse 1942 Dodge car, this grill is almost perfect condition. It will need some polishing from shelf wear. These grills were super limited in production possibly only for 3-4 months because all available aluminum had to go support the war effort, making it exceptionally rare. They have never been reproduced.
